New funding from the Region for Volunteer Fire Stations in the Garda Area. The Lombardy Region has allocated two million euros to support the volunteer fire stations, with particular focus on the communities of Desenzano del Garda, Salò, Cunettone, and Tremosine. Among the 55 funded projects, the initiative aims to purchase vehicles and technical equipment to enhance the operational efficiency of local associations. This call for proposals was directed at Non-Profit Organizations (Onlus), Social Promotion Associations (APS), and Volunteer Organizations (OdV), with significant participation from the province of Brescia, which stands out as the leading province in Lombardy in terms of the number of beneficiary associations.
The associations “Friends of the Firefighters” in Desenzano, Salò, Cunettone, and Tremosine will each receive funding of up to approximately 35,000 euros to facilitate necessary purchases. Regional Councillor La Russa emphasized the importance of this initiative in providing volunteer firefighters with adequate tools and functional facilities. Overall, the non-repayable contribution will cover 100% of eligible expenses for projects aimed at improving operational bases, with funding reaching up to 50,000 euros for each application submitted by the beneficiaries.
