Garda Area Scam: Fake Carabinieri Offers and How to Respond

They pretend to be Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions from the Service.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
