Garda-area Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Phone Subscription Schemes

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to arm magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who alternately claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune wardens.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
