Garda-area Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Businesses

They impersonate carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions from the Arma.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
