Garda Area Scammers Impersonate Police for Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

These individuals are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

So, be careful and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by someone who,
