Garda Area Scammers Pose as Police to Promote Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the armed forces magazines.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
