Garda Cultural Training: First ‘Author Encounter’ on Desenzano
Today, March 1st, as part of the training course for cultural operators in the Garda area organized by the Federazione delle associazioni gardesane – Cultura and funded by the Regione, the first of a series of «Author Encounters» focusing on local history will be held.
The conferences will take place in Desenzano at the Centro sociale di via Castello 80, and will be open to the public, as well as to the students attending the training course.
First series of encounters
This initial session will be the first of five meetings planned, while another series will be held in Salò at the Palazzo Fantoni.
The first event will focus on «Desenzano del Garda», with Giuseppe Tosi designated to illustrate the history, economy, and environment of this locality. Tosi is already known for a significant series of monographs published from 1983 to the present, all on Desenzano themes.
Among his notable works are the «Chiesa di Santa Maria Maddalena», published in 1983 with a reprint and second edition in 1986; «Desenzano ’900» (1987); the church of San Giovanni Decollato in Desenzano del Garda (1990); the Santa Maria in Senioribus (1991); and last year, the churches forgotten in the Desenzano territory.
His historical contributions have also appeared in various periodicals. He is a versatile historian, known for fluid and captivating storytelling.
