Garda Cycle Path: agreement for bike tourist boats in Limone

A significant agreement has been signed for the establishment of a service of bike ferries between Gardone Riviera and Limone sul Garda, replacing the third Lombardy section of the Garda Cycle Path, which will not be built due to technical and hydrogeological issues. The Lombardy Regional Council, at the initiative of Infrastructure Councillor Claudia Maria Terzi, has approved a memorandum of understanding with the Province of Brescia and Navigazione Laghi to design vessels dedicated to transporting cyclists and bicycles, thereby ensuring continuity in the internal circular route around the lake. The project includes the creation of equipped areas for boarding and disembarking, as well as a well-timed schedule for the service. Terzi emphasized that this intermodal solution represents a sensible and shared option among all parties involved, contributing to the promotion of the area and improving water connections for residents as well. Meanwhile, work on the first two sections of the Garda Cycle Path, which run from Sirmione to Gardone Riviera, is currently underway and is expected to be completed by March 2024. Italian Version
