GARDA CYCLE PATH: LAST SECTION APPROVED IN TRENTINO ON THE WEST BANK The Conference of Services of the Autonomous Province of Trento has recently approved the Functional Unit 2 (UF2) of the Garda Cycle Path project, thereby completing the authorization process for the entire infrastructure. This section, which stretches from the Sperone Beach to the mouth of the Ponale, represents the final piece of a long-awaited initiative in the area. The first segment, already operational and connected to Riva del Garda, has benefited from a provincial investment of 11.2 million euros, with 90% of the work awarded to local companies.
The announcement was made yesterday by President Maurizio Fugatti during an inspection of the completed first section, in the presence of Infrastructure Minister Matteo Salvini and other local authorities. Fugatti emphasized the significance of the Cycle Path as a strategic project for cycle tourism and the enhancement of the Alto Garda region. With the favorable opinion from provincial services on traffic and safety issues, the next steps will involve the detailed design and tendering of UF2, which will follow a protected route alternating between natural and artificial tunnels.
