Garda Fraud Alert: Scammers Impersonating Police Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who,
