Garda Granfondo Boosts Participation with Record Registration
Pride and Success for the Garda Granfondo
After winning two Olympic gold medals, Paola Pezzo is making a record as an organizer as well. Indeed, the Granfondo dedicated to her, taking place in Garda on Sunday, April 22, reached an extraordinary 3,000 registered participants in its second edition.
This success compelled the organizers, the sports association Valtellina Bike, to close registrations early in order to guarantee the highest organizational standards for all participants.
On Saturday, April 21, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and Sunday, April 22, from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM, on Garda’s lakeside promenade, there will be verification of licenses and collection of race kits.
Start Times and Prizes
The starts, in waves of 600 bikers, will take place from 11:00 AM to 11:40 AM on Sunday, April 22.
The first arrivals are expected from 12:15 PM, with award ceremonies scheduled for 3:30 PM.
Territory and Routes
The Garda area, thanks to the active collaboration of local authorities, will present itself to bikers in all its splendor: the logistics of start and finish on Garda’s lakeside promenade are unique, and the race route highlights the most stunning views of Garda, Costermano, Torri del Benaco, San Zeno di Montagna, and Caprino Veronese.
Information and Contacts
As we await April 21 and 22, the site www.valtellinabike.org continues to experience great success in contacts. The website provides all useful information, an updated list of registered participants every 24 hours, and a virtual tour of the race route with over 80 photographs.
