The Garda Karate Team triumphed at the Trophy Lombardia, held on Sunday, February 9, at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Gorgonzola, in the province of Milan. With an impressive lineup of 72 athletes, the team participated in various events, including a course and balloon activities for the youngest competitors, kata and balloon events for the para karate participants, as well as kumite for both pre-competitive and competitive athletes. The event featured 52 teams and a total of 1,115 registrations, with 757 athletes present.
The Garda Karate Team secured a total of 60 medals, comprised of 24 gold, 12 silver, and 24 bronze, thus claiming the first position in the overall ranking and in the course/balloon events, while finishing second in para karate. The team leaders expressed their satisfaction with the high participation of young athletes, highlighting the importance of the coaches’ daily commitment to training not only athletes but also individuals with strong values.
