Garda Lake Hospitality Directory Boosts International Visibility
The Garda Lake of 2001 in 180 pages. This is the new edition of the Garda hospitality annual, distributed by the Comunità del Garda. It is the only comprehensive tool for information on hotels, residences, and campsites throughout the Garda basin and its hinterland, produced and managed by an organization for which territorial promotion is a primary goal. Now in its nineteenth edition, the directory guarantees reliable information for both Italian and international users who increasingly rely on its comprehensive listings of Garda accommodations with confidence and satisfaction.
As well as the operators who, over the years, have found it useful, effective, and accurate, becoming supporters and advertisers themselves. Updated periodically, the Annual of hotels, campsites, and residences can also be browsed on the official Garda Lake website – www.lagodigarda.it – by clicking on “accommodation”. This isn’t a reservation system but the right guidance to find satisfying answers to one’s inquiries, with the opportunity to connect directly with the chosen accommodation through links.
Website visibility and traffic
Thus, every facility, from the largest to the smallest, operating within the municipalities around Garda and the hinterland, finds a way to be known through the Annual and the website managed by the Comunità del Garda. The official Garda Lake site, managed by the community, is the most visited. In the first ten months of 2000, site visits, which showcase Garda Lake in its entirety and its multiform richness of attractions, exceeded seven and a half million, coming from over seventy countries worldwide.
There have also been visits from China, Chile, Korea, Colombia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Estonia, Hong Kong, India, Lithuania, Malaysia, the Principality of Monaco, and Peru, to mention a few colorful examples. Overall, these are just a few thousand hits, but they still serve as proof that the name Garda, its landscapes, and related information are truly making the rounds globally via the Internet.
Traffic data and trends
Even more interesting, from a statistical perspective, is analyzing the periods during which access from various countries occurs. The data highlights, for instance, that the highest number of visits from the countries that traditionally send tourists to Garda usually occurred in July and August.
This confirms, in a way, the trends observed by international tourism experts, who report that an increasing number of travelers now choose and plan their holidays at the last minute. The role of the Internet is becoming ever more decisive in this sector. Consequently, from Austria, over 80,000 visits were recorded in July and August; from Germany, more than 350,000; from Italy, over 600,000; and nearly 70,000 from the Netherlands and also from Switzerland.
A positive and noteworthy figure is the 7.5 million site visits recorded in the first ten months of this year, which reveal Garda’s potential for communication that would otherwise be challenging to reach. For this reason, the Comunità del Garda has invested and continues to invest resources and efforts into this new tool, constantly updating its content to provide timely, complete, and accurate information.
