Garda Lake Underwater Cleanup Postponed Due to Weather Conditions

It was more the lake’s fault than the rain. The volunteers who last Saturday would have easily faced bad weather to participate in the “Ecological Day,” but they had to give up due to the conditions of Garda.

In fact, the plan was to clean the seabed and the port of Piazza Catena – where the underwater nativity scene will be located in a few weeks – but the water, muddied by the rain, prevented even the slightest visibility for the divers, and so, by common agreement, it was decided to postpone the event to the following Saturday.

Postponement and expectations for improved weather

Seven days of waiting, therefore, during which it is hoped that the weather improves and the suspended particles of debris in the water finally settle on the bottom, restoring the lake’s usual clarity.

Only under these conditions will it be possible to identify the mountain of trash that, irresponsibly discarded by people, accumulates heavily on the seabed throughout the year.
