Garda–Mincio Major Maintenance: Results Presented in Peschiera
At the Centro Civico Gandini in Peschiera, on Friday May 15, officials presented the results of the extraordinary maintenance on the Garda–Mincio integrated regulation system. The project, promoted by AIPo in collaboration with the Garda Chiese, Mincio Territories, and Mincio II consortia and sponsored by the municipality, is funded under the PNRR with 20.085 million euros from NextGenerationEU. The event was attended, via videolink, by Matteo Salvini, Mayor Maria Orietta Gaiulli, and technical leaders from AIPo and the consortia, who outlined the program’s technical and administrative framework.
The program covers seven interventions originally designed in the early 20th century and completed around the 1950s, now being advanced in an integrated approach: Diga di Salionze (Ponti sul Mincio), Nodo di Pozzolo–Marengo, Canale scaricatore Pozzolo–Maglio, Sostegno Vasarone (Mantova), Nodo di Formigosa, Sostegno di Governolo, and Canale diversivo di Mincio. The completion deadline was initially set for March 31, 2026, but has been extended to June 30, 2026, with AIPo remaining the implementing entity responsible for the schedule and final verifications.
