Garda Region Scammers Faking Authorities to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda region, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the actual Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

seeking money, disappear without a trace.
