Garda Region Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

In reality, they are scammers who, from time to time, claim to be affiliated with finance, police, fire brigade, or Municipal authorities.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

would have money, and then disappear.
