Garda Region Scammers Pose as Carabinieri for Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They masquerade as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda region, proposing magazine subscriptions from the armed forces.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or municipal guards.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, if they had money, no longer shows themselves.
