Garda Scam Alert: Beware Fake Police Calls and Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when making telephone contact with hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to Army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, the police, the fire brigade, or the urban police.

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.
