Garda Scammers Impersonate Authorities to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to the army‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

So, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who, if they had money, no longer shows themselves.
