Garda Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Fake Magazine Schemes

They pose as carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, proposing magazine subscriptions from the Carabinieri.

They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or urban police units.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have no connection to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving money, disappear.
