The scammers impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering magazine subscriptions from the armed forces.

They are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance, police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
