Garda Scammers Impersonate Police to Push Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to the arm

magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the authentic Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who,
