Garda Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, each time, claim to be from finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
