Garda Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They are pretending to be Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be affiliated with finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
