Garda Scammers Pose as Police Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who,
