Garda Scammers Pose as Police to Target Local Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to security forces.

Therefore, beware and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you are being targeted by individuals who,
