Garda Town Implements Traffic Bans and New Parking Zones for Summer

Alters the traffic flow for motor vehicles and motorcycles, the most common means of transportation in the lakeside town during the summer period. After all, it is not easy to find suitable parking spaces, let alone ensuring smooth traffic flow in the historic center during the summer months, when cars and campers flood the warm Garda summer.

Transit ban and parking areas

A mayor’s ordinance prohibits traffic for motorbikes and motorcycles and designates appropriate parking spaces for these vehicles. The area affected by the transit ban, clearly marked by new vertical road signs, includes viale Roma, near the municipal camping site, lungolago Marconi, and corso Cangrande.

In order to provide motorcyclists with designated parking areas, the local administration has decided to create exclusive motorcycle parking zones in front of the new port, adjacent to the municipal camping site, in the area of corso Cangrande near Casa Degani, and in via Marra, close to Casa Righi, near the large parking lot of via Marra, the playground, and the nursery school.

Parking permits for merchants

Only merchants are allowed to park their vehicles next to their commercial activities, provided these are located within the historic center and the vehicle does not disturb others, traffic, or pedestrians. This is also a way to improve the experience of both residents and tourists visiting the town.
