The RS Aero European Championships concluded with great success, featuring nearly 120 athletes from 16 nations, including Poland and Iceland. The races took place over four days of intense sailing activity, characterized by a spirit of friendship and sportsmanship that created a particularly lively atmosphere. Despite a forced pause for the funeral of Pope Francis, all races were completed, except for the RS Aero 5 fleet, which held ten races. During the day off, many teams took the opportunity to explore the Garda Trentino, reinforcing the connection between sport and tourism.
From a competitive standpoint, the event showcased the brilliance of young Italian talents: Mattia Di Lorenzo claimed the European title in the RS Aero 7 fleet, while Enrico Loi was the top Under 17 in the RS Aero 5 fleet. The Italian representation also stood out in the RS Aero 6 category with Filippo Vincis and Leonardo Nonnis. The event was organized by the Circolo Vela Arco, which once again demonstrated its ability to host international sailing events, thereby reinforcing its position as a benchmark for sportsmanship in the Garda Trentino. The club’s activities will continue with new national regattas starting from June 13.
