Garda Unveils New Covered Parking Lot with 160 Spaces
New Covered Parking Lot in Garda
A new covered and guarded parking lot for 160 cars. It cost four billion lire. It will be inaugurated tomorrow afternoon at 4 PM by Mayor Giorgio Comencini and regional councilor for environment policies and mobility Renato Chisso. The parking lot is located on via Preite, behind the Hotel Palme, on a plot of land purchased several years ago by the municipal administration.
The construction was made possible thanks to significant regional funding: Venice has committed to pay 435 million lire annually for a full decade, covering the installments of the loan taken out by the Garda Municipality. “The new parking lot,” says Comencini, “has a very modest environmental impact. On the surface, there is only a small building, intended to house the ticket office and the bar.
On the ground floor, there are 40 parking spaces, and another 120 are located in the underground level.”
