Garda Utilities Network Takes Shape

Garda Uno and Servizi Comunali have presented in Milan the formation of a business network to coordinate selected public services, with a focus on urban hygiene. The initiative involves the two fully public, in-house companies, represented by Garda Uno president Mario Bocchio and Servizi Comunali CEO Enrico De Tavonatti, in the presence of Lombardy’s regional environment and climate councillor Giorgio Maione.

The agreement sets out shared management for strategic services while keeping public governance and local responsibility. Its goals include pooling expertise, achieving economies of scale, containing operating costs, and increasing investment capacity to respond to economic and environmental challenges in the sector. The network also aims to improve service quality and gradually optimize the structures dedicated to environmental hygiene, without turning into a merger or a centralized model.
