Garda Website Hits Exceed 7.5 Million in 10 Months Worldwide
Although no one from Singapore or Costa Rica, Kazakhstan or Cyprus, Taiwan, or the Dominican Republic, Georgia, Lebanon, or Bulgaria, clicked on www.lagodigarda.it, the official website of Lake Garda managed by the Comunità del Garda, during the first ten months of 2000, the contacts made from over seventy countries worldwide with the site that showcases and presents Benaco in its entirety and its multifaceted attractions exceed 7.5 million.
International Access and Origins
If one were to focus on a noteworthy detail, it would be the accesses from China, those from Chile or South Korea, or from Colombia, or from Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Estonia, or Hong Kong, from India, Lithuania, Malaysia, the Principality of Monaco, or Peru. All in all, a few thousand, but nonetheless a testament that the name of Garda, the images of its landscapes, and the information related to it are truly making the rounds worldwide thanks to the Internet.
More interesting from a statistical perspective is an analysis of the period during which access was made from various countries. The data highlights, for example, that the highest number of accesses from countries traditionally hosting Garda tourists generally occurred in July and August. This somewhat confirms the trend observed by international tourism observers, according to which an increasing number of travelers choose and decide on their holidays at the last minute, with the role of the Internet becoming ever more decisive in this sector.
Thus, Austria recorded over 80,000 accesses in July and August, more than 350,000 from Germany, over 600,000 from Italy, nearly 70,000 from the Netherlands, and the same from Switzerland.
Nevertheless, a positive and noteworthy figure is the 7,548,202 accesses in the first ten months of the year, which open up Garda to a communication potential that would otherwise be difficult to reach. For this reason, the Comunità del Garda has invested and continues to invest energies and resources into this new tool, constantly updating its content to ensure that the information is timely, complete, and accurate.
