Gardaland Legend Franco Carini Dies, Renowned Dolphin Trainer and Theme Park Icon
Franco Carini, a key figure in Gardaland’s history and renowned dolphin show performer, has passed away at age 84. A circus-trained animal trainer with experience in the United States, Carini was recruited by Livio Furini in the early 1970s and managed the Florida Dolphin Show from the park’s opening in 1975 until 1996, serving as Artistic Director and attractions manager.
Throughout his career, Carini influenced the park’s daily programming and live shows, especially Western-themed productions. He also served on Gardaland’s Board of Directors, handled organizational issues, and maintained ongoing relationships with colleagues and staff after his tenure.
