Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium Backs World Oceans Day With Conservation and Awareness Initiatives

Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium has joined World Ocean Day activities by backing the SEA LIFE TRUST’s international campaign “Help Our Ocean Friends” and launching local initiatives at the Experimental Fisheries Park to support alborella conservation. In Peschiera, 100 bags of gravel, each weighing about 1.8 tons, were placed to rebuild spawning grounds, while the Canneto Nursery at the aquarium has grown over 2,000 Phragmites australis destined for floating islands on nesting sites.

From today, June 8, to June 14, the aquarium will host a week of awareness and fundraising to support SEA LIFE TRUST conservation projects, including creative workshops for children on reusing materials and an educational coral reef workshop scheduled for Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June at 11:00 (pre-registration required). The campaign involves SEA LIFE’s international network and local partners and aims to fund rescue, recovery, and rehabilitation of marine fauna.
