Gardaland to Stage Major Health-Emergency Drill in 2025 Under Italian Guidelines
A maxi-emergency health simulation was staged in 2025 at Gardaland Resort, marking the first collaboration between Università La Sapienza’s II-level Master in Maxi-Emergencies Health and the program promoted and coordinated by Performed. The exercise involved more than 150 participants from academia, Suem 118 Verona, ULSS n.9 Scaligera, the Italian Red Cross – Bardolino Baldo Garda Committee, the Provincial Fire Brigade Command, SISMAX, SIIET, Gardaland staff and medical and safety teams.
The drill featured two scenarios, Blue Tornado (external adrenaline ride) and Animal Treasure Island (indoor water dark ride), and concluded with a debriefing to analyze operational evidence and identify protocol improvements. Participants included Alessandra Zanoni (Gardaland Park Operations Director), Dr. Massimiliano Maculan (Performed), Alessandro Delli Poggi (Scientific Coordinator of the Master) and Prof. Augusto Lauro (Director of the Master), with the objective of contributing to the first Italian guidelines and clinical recommendations for maxi-emergencies management.
