The Gardesano Book Exhibition in Tignale

Continues until Sunday, July 29, at the library in Tignale (on Via Badiale, open from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.), the Gardesano Book Exhibition.

The event originally launched in Gardone and is set to visit all the municipalities in the upper Brescia Garda region. Over 300 titles of Gardesano books are on display, including both well-known and less familiar works.

The opportunity to set up the exhibition was made possible through the support of several publishing houses and some local entities.

Final Event and Book Presentation

The highlight of this cultural event in Tignale is scheduled for the final evening, Sunday, July 29, at 9 p.m. in the municipal auditorium (middle school). The volume «Historia della Riviera di Salò» by Bongianni Grattarolo will be presented, reprinted for the Ateneo di Salò and the «Il Sommolago» Association of Arco.

The introduction and the list of names have been prepared by three renowned researchers, beginning with Piercarlo Belotti, a teacher at the «Battisti» middle school in Salò, a member of the Ateneo and the Historical Archaeological Society of the Riviera, and editor of the Centre for Studies of the Benacense Territory. He is an expert in history and botany.

Joining Belotti in the work were Giuseppe Scarazzini (former Archivist Superintendent for Lombardy, member of the Ateneo and Asar, author of numerous studies, and coordinator of the inventory of documents from the old regime archive 1431-1805 of the Municipality of Salò) and Gianfranco Ligasacchi (also a member of the Ateneo, Asar, and the Centre for Studies of the Benacense Territory. He specializes in archival studies and has contributed to the publication of local history books).

The «Historia della Riviera di Salò» was reprinted in November 2000. More information can be obtained by calling 0365/71449.
