Gardone-Arcachon Youth Exchange Highlights Cultural and Leisure Activities

Recently, about ten young French people completed a stay, spending a pleasant week alongside their peers from Gardone, where they were hosted. The initiative, part of a twinning program between the communities of Gardone and Arcachon (France Atlantique), was promoted by their respective municipal administrations and benefited from the valuable cooperation of the families who hosted the youths. The participants, aged between 11 and 15, visited the “Vittoriale”, Riva, and Gardaland amusement park.

They spent a night at the Giorgio Pirlo Refuge on Passo Spino. This was followed by an excursion to Mount Pizzocolo. The Gardone-Arcachon twinning has already been confirmed for next year.

Description of Arcachon

Arcachon is known for Europe’s northernmost dune (Pilatus Dune), oyster farming, and an entirely literary atmosphere: Gabriele D’Annunzio stayed there for several days, working on some of his works.
