Gargnano is preparing to host the **ninth edition of “Giardini d’Agrumi”** on the weekend of April 12th and 13th, an event that celebrates the tradition of citrus cultivation in the **Upper Garda** region. Organized by the “Terre & Sapori” association in collaboration with “This is Gargnano – Pro Loco,” the Municipality of Gargnano, and “Il profumo dei limoni,” the event aims to enhance the historic lemon groves of the area, dating back to the 15th century, where citrus fruits continue to be cultivated for both productive and decorative purposes. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore over 24 lemon groves along the historic paths of Quarcina, Crocefisso, San Giacomo, and Villa, with access to the garden of Villa Bettoni as well.
At the Cloister of San Francesco, there will be a pomological table featuring more than 50 varieties of local citrus fruits and a photographic exhibition dedicated to citrus cultivation in the Garda area. Students from the Fermi High School in Salò and the I.P.S.E.O.A. Caterina de’ Medici will actively participate in the event, offering guided tours and a culinary contest. The event also includes educational workshops on citrus cultivation and a themed market. For those who wish to experience it from a different perspective, it will be possible to participate in “Giardini d’Agrumi by boat,” departing from the port of Gargnano. All events are free of charge, unless otherwise specified.
