Gargnano Hosts Brescia and Benaco Book Exhibition Through October 16
This morning in Gargnano, the seventh stage of the “Mostra del libro gardesano” took place. Books focusing on Brescia and, in particular, the Benaco area, will be on display daily from 10 am to 12 pm and from 4 pm to 7 pm at the former Town Hall, in front of the small port. The event is scheduled to close on October 16.
So far, the initiative has involved the Municipalities of Gardone, Tignale, Valvestino, Magasa, Tremosine, Salò. The next appointment will be in Toscolano Maderno (from October 20 to 31). Further ahead, the Limone stage is planned from December 10 to 17.
Organization and Objectives
The event is promoted and coordinated by the Sistema bibliotecario dell’Alto Garda, in collaboration with the libraries of the various Municipalities. The Comunità Montana Parco (the entity responsible for the event, which has engaged — and will continue to engage — the entire territory from Salò to Limone) emphasizes the “laudable results, also due to the involvement of the school community.”
Indeed, this represents a unique opportunity to personally explore hundreds of books on display for viewing and — sometimes — for purchase. A mountain of material that is difficult to find in a single library.
It is, therefore, a golden opportunity for Gargnano’s students and teachers. However, while the exhibition will remain open during the scheduled period, a notable new development is the cancellation of the presentation of the book “Giangiacomo Feltrinelli. La dinastia il rivoluzionario”, written by Aldo Grandi.
The book was scheduled for presentation on Saturday, October 13, and would have served as a catalyst, as previous cultural events of this nature have done, offering readers the chance to meet the authors. The event has been postponed indefinitely.
