After four days of intense searching, Guozheng Zhu, known as Tommaso, has been found dead after going missing in the waters of Lake Garda last Saturday. The 44-year-old man was seen struggling before disappearing beneath the surface in the early afternoon off the coast of Gargnano.
Despite adverse weather conditions, teams from the Coast Guard, the Volunteers of Garda, and the Firefighters worked tirelessly to locate Zhu. This morning, just before 10:00 am, the Dive Team of the Volunteers of Garda located and recovered the man’s body.
The lifeless body was taken to the port of Bogliaco, where the sad process of identification was carried out by the victim’s sister. The remains will now be returned to Zhu’s wife and two daughters, who anxiously followed the search operations during these difficult days.
Tommaso Zhu was a well-known figure in Toscolano Maderno, thanks to his management of the Furious Pub on Marconi Street. His disappearance has left a void in the local community that knew and appreciated him.
Local authorities continue to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident, while the community rallies around the Zhu family in this time of grief.
