Gargnano lights up for the Christmas holidays: a calendar full of magic, music, and tradition

The Municipality of Gargnano, through the Department of Culture, invites citizens and visitors to experience the enchantment of Christmas with a packed calendar of events designed for all ages. Amidst sparkling lights, live music, theatrical performances, and local traditions, the lakeside village is preparing to celebrate the festive season in grand style.

Must-See Events

The program, which is constantly being updated, unfolds throughout the historic center and its charming districts, offering moments of entertainment, culture, and community engagement.

Sunday, December 3

The Christmas season officially kicks off with the lighting of the decorations at 4:30 PM, preceded by street performers, music, and children’s activities starting at 2:30 PM along Via Roma and Piazza Feltrinelli.

Thursday, December 12

In the heart of the historic center, at 2:30 PM, the traditional event “Waiting for Santa Lucia” returns, featuring games and snacks for the little ones.

Saturday, December 14

The magic of Gospel music fills Piazza Feltrinelli from 2:00 PM with a concert by the Academy Gospel Ensemble, accompanied by activities for children. At 5:00 PM, the Coro Monte Pizzocolo will present an emotional musical journey at the Church of San Bartolomeo in Costa.

Sunday, December 15

The highlight of the day is a concert by the Symphonika Ensemble, conducted by Maestro Massimo Guerini. The event is scheduled for 3:30 PM at the Church of Sant’Antonio Abate in Sasso.

Saturday, December 21 and Sunday, December 22

A weekend dedicated to family and music:

  • Saturday, the theater company “Il Sipario Onirico” presents the show “Rapunzel”, designed for both adults and children, at the Sala Castellani at 5:00 PM.
  • Sunday, at the Church of San Francesco, the choir The Golden Guys Gospel will perform the Christmas Greetings Concert at 8:30 PM.

Tuesday, December 24

Christmas Eve will be enlivened, starting at 5:00 PM, by performances from the Banda G. Verdi di Toscolano Maderno, which will perform between Piazza San Martino and Via Tretto, concluding with a musical moment in Piazza Feltrinelli.

Saturday, December 28

For the little ones and their families, don’t miss the theatrical performance ABC of Christmas, presented by the Teatro Telaio company. The event is at 4:30 PM in the Sala Castellani. In the evening, at 8:30 PM, the Church of San Pier d’Agrino will host the Jubilee Concerts.

Friday, January 3

The new year begins with the theatrical performance “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, organized by the company “Il Sipario Onirico”, at 4:30 PM in the Sala Castellani.

Sunday, January 5

The day is dedicated to Epiphany traditions:

  • At 4:00 PM, the Banda G. Verdi di Toscolano Maderno will hold its Epiphany Concert at the Sala Castellani.
  • In the afternoon, starting at 5:30 PM, the areas of Torrazzo, Mignone, and Costa will be animated by the traditional Star Singing.

Monday, January 6

The celebrations conclude with another performance of the Star Singing, at 5:00 PM at the Church of San Bartolomeo in Costa.

Special Events: Lemon Houses and Quality Markets

Throughout December, the Chiostro di San Francesco will host enchanting guided tours of the lemon houses and the quality market, open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on the following days:

  • Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1.
  • Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8.
  • Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15.
  • Saturday, December 21 and Sunday, December 22.
