Gas-Powered Car Fire Prompts Evacuation of 20 at Riva del Garda Parking Lot

A methane-powered car fire occurred in a private parking lot on Via Grez in Riva del Garda on Tuesday evening at 5:07 PM, prompting emergency response. The flames quickly spread to two nearby vehicles and the building’s exterior cladding, leading to the evacuation of 20 apartments and involving fire brigades and emergency services.

During the operation, two elderly residents, a 96-year-old woman and an 89-year-old man, received medical assistance without serious injuries. Firefighters from Riva, supported by teams from Arco and Trento, removed approximately 30 square meters of damaged insulation and are working to secure the methane tank. The response also involved police, an ambulance, and other local agencies.
