This measure was introduced following the new provisions of the Ministerial Decree dated June 20, 2025, aimed at preventing fires in road tunnels. Specifically, in sections with a speed limit of **50 kilometers per hour**, vehicles must maintain a distance of at least **70 meters**, while those traveling at **70 kilometers per hour** will be required to keep a distance of **100 meters**.
Particular attention has been given to the **San Biagio tunnel in Gavardo**, where the speed limit has been reduced from 90 to 70 kilometers per hour, with a mandatory minimum safety distance of 100 meters. These new rules are designed to reduce the risk of accidents and are part of a broader context that also includes future interventions for upgrading fire prevention systems in the tunnels.
