The new state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine equipped with the latest technology has been inaugurated at Gavardo Hospital. This diagnostic tool represents one of the most advanced equipment currently available on the market, thanks to its Artificial Intelligence (AI) that improves resolution and accelerates the image acquisition process.

The MRI also offers tools that allow the study of the heart from both a morphological and functional perspective, as well as the study of large blood vessels. Thanks to the synergy between the different departments of the hospital, cross-departmental collaborations have been developed for the benefit of the patients. The Magnetic Resonance Imaging is configured to perform specific examinations on the entire body, especially for hematological oncology patients affected by diseases such as multiple myeloma or metastases.

The acquisition of this machine will allow doctors to improve performance in radiodiagnostics, reducing examination times and optimizing the entire clinical and organizational process. Furthermore, the MRI has a wider opening compared to previous generations, ensuring greater comfort for the patient and reducing anxiety and claustrophobia. Sedation exams will also be possible for claustrophobic or difficult patients, thanks to collaboration with the anesthesia service.

The new Magnetic Resonance Imaging will also offer tools for accurate prostate diagnosis, thanks to a reprocessing package equipped with artificial intelligence, and for advanced breast examination. Neurological examinations for the evaluation of the brain and spine will also be possible, ensuring high-quality content in a comfortable and reassuring environment.

The investment in the new Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine amounted to 908,000 euros, fully financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), while the construction and plant adaptation works cost 185,000 euros, entirely funded by the Lombardy Region. This new tool will allow Gavardo Hospital to offer new services and become increasingly attractive and at the forefront in meeting the needs of the citizens of the area and neighboring regions.
