The MUSE of Trento is launching an extensive program of events in celebration of the International Year for Glacier Conservation, proclaimed by the United Nations and running from March to December 2025. This initiative aims to raise public awareness about the crucial role glaciers play in the global climate and hydrological systems, addressing the challenges posed by their rapid melting due to rising temperatures and pollution. The program will feature over 80 events, including exhibitions, educational workshops, lectures, and film screenings, all designed to explore the importance of glaciers for biodiversity and local economies.
Starting from March 21, MUSE will offer a series of activities ranging from scientific research to collaborations with local entities such as the Civil Protection Department and the Provincial Agency for Environmental Protection. These events are designed to engage the public in understanding ongoing environmental dynamics and to promote a new value system towards natural heritage. Environmental conservation will be at the forefront of discussions, highlighting the urgency of concrete actions to protect glaciers and mountain ecosystems threatened by the climate crisis.
