Goito Variant: approval for mobility in Mantova
Goito Variant Approved: A Step Forward for Mobility Between Mantova and Brescia The Conference of Services has recently granted final approval for the Goito Variant, a crucial infrastructure project aimed at enhancing mobility in Mantova and the surrounding provinces. During the meeting held at Palazzo Lombardia, the environmental compatibility of the project was also confirmed, which entails an investment of 125 million euros fully funded by the Region through the Lombardia Plan. The Regional Assessor for Infrastructure and Public Works, Claudia Maria Terzi, emphasized the significance of the project in reducing heavy traffic in the town center of Goito and strengthening road connections between Mantova and Brescia.
The project will now move into the execution phase, with the drafting expected by January 2026. Final approval is anticipated by March of the same year, with the goal of launching the tender in April 2026. The construction contracts are expected to be awarded by the end of 2026, and the Variant is projected to be open to traffic in 2029. Terzi reiterated the Region’s commitment to implementing this strategic project not only for the Mantova area but also for the entire Lombardy, ensuring active synergy with the local authorities involved.
