Green therapies for horse chestnuts in Salò: necessary interventions against pests
In Salò, the horse chestnuts in Fossa, located in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, are undergoing **green therapies** to combat the threat posed by two parasites. The municipality has initiated a targeted intervention due to the spread of Cameraria ohridella, a leaf miner, and Guignardia aesculi, a pathogenic fungus. These organisms have caused leaf desiccation and premature leaf drop, jeopardizing the health of the trees that define this important urban space. In recent days, treatments have begun on the trunks, leaves, and roots of the horse chestnuts. Beneficial microorganisms and natural components have been administered to enhance soil fertility and strengthen the plants’ resistance. The interventions will continue until 2026, and all products used are certified “BeeSafe,” ensuring safety for bees and pollinating insects, as well as for humans. Italian Version
