Grupo Compay Segundo Brings Traditional Cuban Music to Gardone Riviera on 2026 Italian Tour
Grupo Compay Segundo, the official heir to Buena Vista Social Club’s repertoire, will bring its 2026 tour to Italy, including a show at the Anfiteatro del Vittoriale in Riviera Gardone on August 13, 2026. The ensemble is led by the double bassist, son of the legendary artist Salvador Repilado.
The Italian leg runs from July 28 to August 14, 2026, with stops in Giulianova, Ancona, Termoli, Riccione, Lignano, San Vincenzo, Arenzano, Monteroduni, Diamante, Vasto, Riviera Gardone and Bard. The group preserves a traditional lineup with clarinets, harmonica, tres, guitars, percussion and choirs, and includes musicians directly linked to Compay Segundo’s heritage. The repertoire was rediscovered thanks to Ry Cooder’s involvement and Wim Wenders’ documentary.
