Guardia di Finanza Crackdown in Salò and Iseo Seizes Tampered Marine Engines on Rental Boats

Over the weekend, members of the Naval Service in Salò and Iseo carried out targeted checks against tampered engines on rental boats, inspecting 21 vessels to verify compliance. The operation, conducted as part of Guardia di finanza activities, resulted in engine seizures and administrative charges against rental companies and responsible individuals.

Authorities examined 21 outboard engines up to 40 horsepower and found that 33% had altered power ratings. At the end of the inspections, a precautionary administrative seizure was ordered for five boats—four on the main lake area and one on Lake Iseo—and fines totaling more than €22,000 were issued for violations of the Navigation Code, the Code for Recreational Boating, and the Private Insurance Code, with the seized boats held pending regularization.
