Guide dogs in Salò: solidarity and autonomy for the visually impaired
An important initiative for animal solidarity took place in Salò, where the Lions Club Clisis Brixia organized the event “Two Eyes for Those Who Cannot See.” Last Saturday, in Piazza Vittoria, participants witnessed demonstrations showcasing the abilities of guide dogs for the visually impaired, culminating in the symbolic handing over of a Labrador named Lema to Cinzia, a 55-year-old woman from Bergamo. Thanks to the presence of the guide dog, Cinzia was able to regain significant independence, improving her quality of life and also finding a valuable emotional companion. The meeting aimed to raise community awareness about the importance of inclusion and support for individuals with visual disabilities. The councilor for Social Services, Marcella Merigo, emphasized the necessity of promoting awareness on these issues. The event also featured a demonstration by rescue dogs from SICS, further enriching the day dedicated to celebrating the bond between humans and animals. Italian Version
